What is the penalty for committing this offence?
The usual penalty is 6 penalty points and a fine of £200. However in certain circumstances you may be required to go to Court, for example if you already have 9 penalty points and the Court is thinking of disqualifying you, or perhaps the police felt that the manner of your driving was of concern.
