Richard was admitted as a Solicitor of the Supreme Court in 2008 having completed his Training Contract in a Large Criminal Defence Firm based in London/Essex, following completion of his Law degree and Legal Practice Course. Upon qualification Richard opened his own Partnership and later worked as a Sole Practitioner in the area of Mental Health Law, representing those most vulnerable in society, and also attained Panel Member Accreditation when it was first introduced. During this time Richard continued to work within the Criminal Defence sphere and worked as a consultant for Levy & Co Solicitors from 2011.
In 2022 Richard decided to move back into Criminal Defence work on a full-time basis and has been a Solicitor, and now Associate Solicitor, at Levy & Co since this time.
Richard attained his Police Station Accreditation prior to becoming a Solicitor and has therefore represented clients within the Police Station for nearly 20years. Shortly after becoming a Solicitor, Richard Qualified as a Duty Solicitor and has been representing clients in the Magistrates Court for a similar length of time.
Richard is now an Associate Solicitor at Levy & Co Solicitors and sits within the Magistrates Court Team as a senior member of staff and regularly attends all Criminal Courts in Essex as a Duty Solicitor as well as maintaining his Police Station work.
Richard has a wealth of experience dealing with all manner of Criminal cases from simple summary only and driving matters, to very complex Frauds and serious matters such as the Supplying of Drugs, Sexual Offences and Murder. Richard deals with all aspects of Magistrate Court Trials and manages a large caseload throughout all stages, up to and including Advocacy at Trial, with many favourable outcomes and acquittals.
