Lauren Sadler-Partner and Family Mediator
Lauren is a partner in the firm and has been advising clients in relation to family law problems since 1999 and qualified as a solicitor in 2001. She realised early in her career that she wanted to specialise in family law and now draws on her broad experience of family matters to offer her services as a Law Society accredited family mediator as well. Lauren has extensive experience of handling divorce, separation, financial remedy, domestic violence and abuse cases, as well as dealing with the arrangements for children, including child abduction and special guardianship cases.
It is Lauren’s pragmatic, robust approach to cases and attention to detail which help her achieve the best results for her clients. Lauren recognises that in family law it is important to conduct cases in a manner which preserves dignity for those involved and to not unnecessarily inflame what is usually already a difficult and emotionally painful time. In financial remedy cases, Lauren encourages her clients to explore all options available and solutions that they may have otherwise disregarded or not thought possible. Lauren’s patient and sympathetic approach helps clients through the distress of separation and her listening skills ensure that she is able to identify what the client really wants to achieve. When a potential solution has been identified, Lauren ensures that the solution is vigorously reality tested so that the client can be certain that outcome is right for their particular situation.
Lauren adopts a non-confrontational approach in her practice and in 2007 became a Member of Resolution, an association of family lawyers who adhere to a strict code of practice to ensure the non-confrontational handling of family matters in a way that offers opportunities for agreement between the parties at all stages of the process. In parallel, following assessment, Lauren was appointed to the Law Society Family Law Panel in 2009.
Lauren’s commitment to training and development has seen her become a member of Law Society’s Advanced Family Law Panel and become a Resolution Accredited Specialist in the categories of Children Law and Domestic Abuse and Finance. Lauren has added to her mediation training and is now a Law Society Accredited Family Mediator approved to directly consult with children in mediation and is qualified to supervise other family mediators.
Lauren completed her LLB Hons in 1998 and her Legal Practice Course, where her interest in family law began, in 1999. Her training contract provided her with background in family law, criminal law, wills and probate, civil litigation and conveyancing.
As the mother of four children, Lauren has practical experience of family matters to draw on in her legal and mediation practice. Her wider interests include house renovation, gardening and horse riding.
