Mediation Fees and Funding
Remember that unlike most areas of family law, legal aid is still available for those who meet the financial criteria. If you qualify, you will be able to go through mediation for free with a legal aid provider. If one of the participants is eligible for legal aid, the first mediation session is free for both parties. After that, the non-eligible party will have to pay.
If you think you may be eligible for Legal Aid, please see below our Legal Aid Quick Guide, which provides further information on eligibility and the necessary documentation that you are required to bring with you to the first meeting, so that you can be properly assessed.
Charging Rate
We charge £90 (+ VAT) per person per 30-45-minute session, for the Mediation Information and Assessment Meeting (MIAM).
For our mediation sessions, we charge £170 (+ VAT) per person per 1 ½ hour session. It may be appropriate in some cases for one party to pay the entire fee for both parties.
We charge an hourly rate of £115 for the preparation and drafting of documents such as the Open Financial Summary and Memorandum of Understanding. We reserve the right to charge an increased fee for more complex financial situations.
